Student Spotlight

Our student Spotlight is the time in which we focus on a specific student to hear their heart and find out how their journey has and is going and get insight on their school experience. This Weeks Student Spotlight is on Pollar Chilongo.

“My name is Chilongo Pollar, I am 22 years old. I am the second born in a family of five. My father is a farmer in Nakonde while my mum stays home with my siblings. Since I was ten years old, singing has been one of my favourite activities. Because I can interact with everyone at chapel at mechanics for Africa, I enjoy it here. It’s wonderful to be here. I’ve learned a lot, but one thing that has stuck with me is that this school puts God at the centre of all it does. Courses are taught very well here, and I love each one. My favourite subject is Trade Theory with Mr. Nyirenda because I know I can implement what I am learning in life and build a business that will assist me and my family. “

“It has been difficult for me to move here from Nakonde, leaving behind my family, and to cope with the demands of school while my father tries to provide for us all. However, what has kept me going is the knowledge that even though I may be going through a difficult time, I will get through it with God’s help. I’m confident I’ll succeed.”
