Why do I like working at Mechanics for Africa?
I joined Mechanics for Africa as Chief Executive in January 2020. I enjoy being part of the transformative journey of students when they come to Mechanics for Africa. My greatest joy is being able to share the love of Jesus Christ through my work and giving hope to young people who would otherwise not have an opportunity to gain skills that will change the trajectory of their lives from poverty to true empowerment.
And a bit more about myself…
Prior to joining MfA, I worked as a consultant social worker in the UK for the London Borough of Wandsworth in various capacities including children in need, child protection, adoption and fostering. After several years of living and working in London, I returned to Zambia driven by a desire to contribute to the young people in Zambia. I worked for Northrise University – a Christ-centred institution in the city of Ndola as Head of Student life and part-time lecturer.
I have a degree in social work from the University of Namibia, a Post Graduate Certificate in Specialist Social Work from Kingston University, London and a Master’s degree in Childhood and Youth from The Open University, UK.
I am married to my high school sweetheart Madalitso and together, we are proud parents to our son Tikondwe.
