Mahatma Ghandi said, the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. One of the goals of MfA is for our students to develop hearts of service. Hearts that can give back to their communities.
Our students engage in various activities which include math tutorials, a reading program and general cleaning. While its easy to look at this activity as just a college requirement, the students have risen to the occasion and found great joy in serving.
Geoffrey Katuta sees service learning as a refreshing experience saying, “I enjoy doing it very much. I enjoy showing commitment to giving back to the community”.

For students such as Falecy Chilambo, a familiar name, it has sparked awareness and growth in her. She expresses how she thought giving people money was the only way that she could lift and support others, through service learning however, she has learnt that you don’t need to have large sums of money to make big change. “Service learning has been my chance to give back the love that God has shown me by educating and spending time with the pupils.

The impact of service learning has spread out to even the staff and pupils at Wiphan. The staff attest to enjoying the aid rendered to helping teach the pupils and help with work around the institution.
