Last week Friday, the second year students went to Hope Christian Fellowship which is a school and an Orphanage in Twapia. The students got to help out and they truly enjoyed it. Hope Christian Fellowship is an Orphanage for boys and girls who are brought in at at early age with supervision from a specific body in the Government. They were so happy to have the MfA team and it was great to see.
Service-Learning is a concrete way of putting into action Christian values that
actually drive the vision of Mechanics for Africa. In a context like our own here in Africa, it is
clear that poverty and suffering is rampant. This, for so long has affected us negatively
because we so often get trapped in a lifestyle of begging and receiving, but never being
available to serve others and give.
