A new school year means new beginnings, new challenges, and a new adventure. It can be scary, but they bring with them great excitement, fresh expectation. They open a door for us to learn new things not just in relation to our education but even about ourselves. Our student Spotlight is the time in which we focus on a specific student to hear their heart and find out how their journey has and is going and get insight on their school experience. This Weeks Student Spotlight is on Emmanuel Chanda.
“My name is Emmanuel Chanda, I am 20 years old and the second born in a family of 4. I enjoy listening to music as well as reading novels in my free time. It feels amazing to be in college, even if some days are challenging because I always assumed my brother would be the first to go, but I constantly keep in mind his advice to “stay positive wherever you go.” That is what has motivated me to keep working hard and do my absolute best to make him and my family proud. I enjoy school because I can see where I can put in my best effort and obtain a tremendous result. It’s uncommon to attend a college where lecturers meet you at your level and are open and friendly with you, therefore one of my favourite college memories is our mentoring meetings with Mr. Chitambo. Mr. Nyirenda Trade Theory lesson is one of my favourites. I enjoy it because learning about mechanics inspires me. I hope to become a great mechanic and be able to support my Family. “
