When MFA trustee Ken and his wife Margaret travelled from the UK, they wanted to do more than see classrooms and workshops—they wanted to understand the heart of MFA.
One of the highlights of their visit was a rare home visit to one of our students who lives with his grandmother. She is a remarkable woman—full of love, resilience, and pride in her grandson’s journey with MFA.
Conversations flowed easily under the open sky. Stories were shared, laughter echoed, and when they discovered they were agemates, it reminded everyone that despite distance and culture, people are simply people. What united them was simple yet powerful: a shared commitment to this young man’s future.
At MFA, these moments matter. Home visits may not happen often, but they capture what makes our work unique: relationships that go beyond classrooms, support that embraces families, and a community that stands together to help students thrive.
