HIV awareness is a national requirement for all training institutions in Zambia—but information on its own has not solved the problem. Despite decades of public campaigns and access to life-saving medicine, infection rates among young people remain troublingly high. Youth aged 15–24 account for nearly half of all new HIV infections in Zambia each year.
As part of Seminar Week, Vice Principal Mr Chitambo and Senior Lecturer Mr Mbewe led a powerful session with our Year 1 students. They went beyond presenting statistics—creating space for honest dialogue, thoughtful questions, and practical solutions. Students reflected on the choices and values that can protect their futures and strengthen their communities.
We’re inspired by the courage and engagement our students showed proof that informed, responsible young leaders can shape a healthier Zambia for generations to come.
